Cape2Rio 2020 - La partenza

11 gennaio 2020 partenza della Cape2Rio. 

A bordo di Almagores 2 saranno 17 giorni di traversata, di regata, di avventure, di foto, di video. Ne ho fatto un diario che ora vi racconto 18 video dalla partenza a Cape Town all'arrivo a Rio. Dopo un bel cappuccino da "Giovanni's" il caffè italiano di Cape Town, partiamo allo Royal Cape Yacht Club per la cerimonia e la benedizione. Molliamo l'ormeggio e facciamo la parata nel porto insieme a tutte le barche della regata
Uscita del porto, la tensione comincia a salire
Andrea Henriquet ci fa il briefing con la ripartizione dei ruoli per la partenza e fino all'inizio dei turni. Io sarò affianco ad Adrea che timone per informarlo sull'andamento delle procedure e l'avvicinamento alla linea.
Il vento è steso e soffia raffinato. Con una ventina di nodi scegliamo di prendere due mani nella randa e genoa pieno.
ore 14:00 il colpo di canone della partenza....Tagliamo la linea con tanta velocità malgrado le due mani. Dopo la prima boa il vento calla e rimettiamo randa piena. Un paio di strambate e giriamo la seconda e ultima boa prima del traguardo a Rio.
Ore 16:00 cominciamo con i turni. Io sono nel primo assieme ad Andrea, Meloni, Mario, Marione e Jack...super squadra!!!
la barca è veloce con una media di 12 nodi....speriamo che dura!

Le jour J:
Après un bon cappuccino de "Giovanni's" le café italien du Cap, nous partons pour le Royal Cape Yacht Club pour la cérémonie et la bénédiction. Nous lâchons l'amarrage et faisons le défilé dans le port avec tous les bateaux de la régate
Sortie du port, la tension commence à monter
Andrea Henriquet nous donne le briefing avec la répartition des rôles pour le début et jusqu'au début des équipes. Je serai à côté d'Adrea qui est à la barre pour l'informer de l'avancement des procédures et de l'approche de la ligne.
Le vent souffle et souffle raffiné. Avec une vingtaine de nœuds, nous choisissons de prendre deux mains dans la grand-voile et le génois complet.
14h00 le coup des frais de départ .... Nous avons coupé la ligne avec tant de vitesse malgré les deux mains. Après la première marque, le vent tombe et nous remettons la grand-voile pleine. Quelques jibes et nous tournons la deuxième et dernière marque avant l'arrivée à Rio.
16h00 nous commençons par les quarts. Je suis dans le premier avec Andrea, Meloni, Mario, Marione et Jack ... super équipe !!!
le bateau est rapide avec une moyenne de 12 nœuds ... j'espère qu'il durera!

On D day :
After a nice cappuccino from "Giovanni's" the Italian coffee of Cape Town, we leave for the Royal Cape Yacht Club for the ceremony and blessing. We release the mooring and make the parade in the port together with all the boats of the regatta
Exit of the port, the tension begins to rise
Andrea Henriquet gives us the briefing with the distribution of roles for the start and until the beginning of the shifts. I will be next to Adrea who is the helm to inform him on the progress of the procedures and the approach to the line.
The wind is blowing and blowing refined. With about twenty knots we choose to take two hands in the mainsail and full genoa.
14:00 the hit of the departure fee .... We cut the line with so much speed despite the two hands. After the first mark the wind drops and we put back full mainsail. A couple of jibes and we turn the second and final mark before the finish in Rio.
16:00 we start with the shifts. I am in the first with Andrea, Meloni, Mario, Marione and Jack ... super team !!!
the boat is fast with an average of 12 knots .... hopefully it will last!
